Is it Spring Yet?

One of the unexpected side effects of my pregnancy is cabin fever - big time. I am not snowboarding this winter and it is too uncomfortable to run at this point. I like walks and Scot has been a great walking buddy (bless his heart) but the weather in Boise has been pretty crummy this March. Great for greening up lawns, not so great for stove up preggos. So I can't tell you how happy I am that today is glorious in Boise! Sun is shining, blue skies, birds singing and 68 degrees! So I took my new camera for a walk and captured a few pictures of the Boise foothills.

I feel pretty lucky to have all of this four blocks from my house! It was a wonderful way to put a smile on my face.

A Nursery is Born

Weekends are a little different around the Scheffel house these days. There is a lot less sleeping in and lounging around and a lot more shopping and assembling. Take this last Saturday for instance, after an hour of crib assembly our spare room is officially a nursery!
Step 1: Wade through a ridiculous amount of packaging.
Step 2: Get to work.
It was a two and a half man job. Baby is the 1/2 - get it? Ha Ha. ;-)
Step 3: Pose with your handy work.
We still have a long way to go in the nursery, but this was a fun step in the right direction. Plus, I can't help but smile when I look at this picture and think about the little man that will occupy this bed very soon.

A New Beginning

I was speaking to my very wonderful sister-in-law last weekend and she commented that although she loves my last post about getting married, I can't let my blog end there. That post was a nice way to wrap up a chapter in life - the single chapter - but it is time for a new beginning.

So, new blog look, same blog location and LOTS of new developments.

First off, check out what Scot and I have been up to since we got married:
That's right, we made a little human. A boy to be precise. And not a shy boy as evidenced by this next image. (My son may come to resent that I so gleefully shared this image but I think it is funny that he was spread eagle for the ultrasound tech. Her comment was: "If this baby does not turn out to be a boy, I am quitting my job")

Finally, a shot of his little legs. Already we are growing an athlete - Scot is ready to play catch with him. I said he needs to wait. Moms can be no fun sometimes. :-)
