7 Months - Clap, Chew, Cry, Repeat

We are in full on teething mode right now. Our little trooper is cutting 4 top teeth. Poor guy, considering the pain he must be in he is doing pretty well.

Another big milestone is learning to clap! Thomas is also rolling everywhere. I wonder if he will just skip crawling in favor of rolling to get where he wants to be. 

I tried to capture the clapping. I didn't get a lot and I can't flip the image, oh well.

 Yep, that is a frozen washcloth to help with teething. He does not like these very much, I think they are too cold on his fingers.

Thomas' future BFF came over for a play date. Meet Walker Jackson. This is my girl Kristen's new little boy.

I use the term 'little guy' loosely. At 3 months old, this guy is a big boy!

 Yep, all in all life is pretty sweet around here.

Grey skies are gonna clear up

In the grand scheme of my time as a mother I know that this is going to be but a blip on the radar but this past week was the toughest week for me. Thomas was sick, congested, fussy, low fever. To make matters worse (and very emotional for me) he went on a nursing strike. I was in a dark place.

And then this weekend came. Scot was an amazing and supportive hubby and best friend. Uncle Pete and Jodi came to town. We skied powder at Bogus Basin and had the whole place to ourselves on Sat. And then low and behold, Thomas started nursing again on Sunday morning. It was like sunshine.

Turns out the poor guy was cutting THREE teeth on top, no wonder he was sick/fussy.

I can't even describe how humbling this motherhood thing is for me. I am so grateful for every minute, even when I am in a dark place I have to keep in mind that it will always get better.

Playroom in process . . .

We are turning Scot's office into a playroom. It marks a new era in the Scheffel house as we are officially being taken over by all things baby. We love it.

Here is a sneak peak of the amazing paint job that Scot engineered. It was quite a feat! Basically I showed him a picture of walls similar to this one and he figured out how to pull it off. It is so awesome.

Once we get the rest of the room 'showroom' ready, I'll post more pictures.

In the meantime here are a few of our little guy enjoying his new playroom. We spend a lot of time here these days.
